The BMW M2 Performance Edition Is On The Way To Distract You From The Rumoured CS
We’ve known for a while now that BMW is cooking up an
M4-engined version of the M2. Expected to be called the Clubsport or
‘CS’, it’s one of the cars we’re looking forward to most this year. But
while we wait for it, BMW has put together a little stop gap of sorts.
According to Bimmerpost, BMW is about to release the ‘M2 Performance Edition’ (regular M2 pictured above). It’ll be limited to just 150 units, all of which will be sold in the USA for a price of $61,695 including destination and handling charges.
So, what have the rest of the world been denied? In addition to the M Driver’s Package - which ups the top speed to 168mph and gives buyers a day of driver training - and some minor spec changes, it’s also had half the M Performance parts catalogue thrown at it.

exhaust including titanium tips, black kidney grilles, black side
‘gills’ and an M Performance illuminated door sill. Oh, and lovely LED
door projectors that beam down a Performance Edition image of some
description.
All will be finished in Alpine White, with the apparent intention of nicely setting off the darker bits of M Performance trim and the added black door mirror caps. It’ll be available with either a seven-speed M DCT automatic, or a six-speed manual.
But if it’s all the same to you, BMW, my fantasy M2 will remain the incoming CS…
